Kindly suggest me that on what what surfaces a laptop should be placed ?

I first time; bought a laptop, just want to ask that where to place it when working, as some said that no to place it on the foam of my bed and suggested me use a wooden piece below it in order to not get overheated. Can I also place it on a cemented floor or carpet? Kindly suggest me that onhat what surfaces a laptop should be placed ?

as long as the venting doesn’t get plugged you will be fine … if it is a flat hard surface you will be fine

any cloth or deep carpet is bad because it can conform to your laptops chassis and plug the exhaust vent for all the hot air. If that happens it can overheat and fry or worse- catch on fire.

any hard surface at all is just fine

Any hard surface is good for a lap top. A carpet could work, if it has short hairs.

Any solid/hard surface, NOT carpet. Sensible question.
The machine needs a good air flow round it, soft surfaces tend to clog the air intake.

Anywhere where your not blocking the air vents on the bottom. The processor is near the bottom and can get really hot if you leave it on the bed or anything that restricts ventilation.

If you wanna leave it on the bed for a few minutes it’s fine but don’t let it sit there running for hours on end. Worst-case scenario you trigger the overheat alarm and have to wait for it to cool down before you can do anything.
