Is there an android internet app which uses less data then others?

I have a 1GB a month data plan, and im just getting to grips with how much usage i can get out of it, but out of interest is there an internet explorer on android that uses less data then the others?

Yes – if you get the ‘Opera’ mobile browser, it has an option to route data through a compression system run by the company.

They claim it reduces the data usage by 80 – 90% compared to the same web pages over an uncompressed connection.
