How to stop a virus that keeps on opening and closing my cd/dvd drive?
My friend sent me a virus for fun which closes my cd/dvd drive. He does not know how to open it and now it keeps on opening and closing. I have tried to reboot my computer but it still opens and closes.
Please Help i am very scared:S

I encountered that problem a few times with different drives (mostly on dell systems)
Usually the case is a faulty drive that needs to be replaced. If you have another drive you can test in place of that one or another system you can put you dvd drive in to test you can try that first to be certain.
I don’t think it is a virus though =D

Under start/programs/ startup check there is nothing running at startup that should not be. If thats OK press “control, ALT, Delete” to bring up the task manager and see if you can spot a program under “processes” that looks odd. If there is one, run MSconfig from the command line look under startup tab and delete it.

Download AVG Free from http://www.avg.com, install and run a full scan. This will get rid of the virus for you.
