Can you suggest a laptop for me?

I will be using the laptop for basic word processing, internet surfing. My last laptop lasted a little over 2 years before the motherboard needed replacing. I just want a solid brand that will give me 3 to 5 years of service without problems. Is there a solid brand out there that I can trust? Not looking to spend money on a mac.

if you want a laptop for just basic use then go for a netbook,it will surely satisfy you.good netbooks brands are HP,Asus and dell.

For that long without problems then you need to go with a desktop. Either Dell or HP.

yeah no mac required try dell inspiron laptops. cheap handy and the best would definitely last 4-5 years

i suggest if u want a reliable one i would go with a Sony. yes you will spend little bit more money but trust me i have mine since 5 years and i never had a problem and right now its the best time to buy because everything is on sale here is a link which has great combo pack with a sony laptop, laptop bag, wireless mouse and a 4GB usb drive. hope this helped:
