You should get an HP or a Toshiba, dont buy a Dell, theyre crap, trust me I have a Toshiba, a HP Dv-7 and a Dell 1525, and my HP is the best out of the Three, Toshiba might look and feel and be cheaper than both, but its allright for what you pay for it, HP ranges anywhere from 500 to 1800 bucks depending on what model you want, mine was 1300 but its way better than most computers out there, my Dell was 1100 and it is total crap, they bundle up programs you dont even need and throw them in there, also my hp has an i5 core and 500 gb my Dell has a amd core and 120 gb and my Toshiba also has an amd and 120 gb, with HP you get more bang for your buck, though the customer service for it and Dell is crappy, but seriously HP is the way to go!

Don’t listen to any of the junk here. All you will get are answers from fanboys or haters, and all their opinions are biased.
You need to consider several things first:
1) Your budget
2) What you will mainly be using the laptop for (be specific, don’t just say something like “for school”, will you be doing graphic design, running engineering programs, or simply word processing and email, etc.)
3) Features most important to you (eg. battery life, cool features, connectivity options, screen size, etc.)Figure those things out first, tell us, and you can get better help.

Hi Joy,
It really depends on what you will be using your laptop for. For basic productivity and entertainment the Dell Studio 15 is a great choice. It has a 15.6″ screen, fast processor, and 4 GB of RAM. However, there are plenty of other laptops you will probably want to look at before making a decision. Check out the link to the PC Scout tool below. You can enter the specs you want and it will generate customized laptop recommendations.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Isabella
